With winter weather being around the corner, we are starting to prepare for the snow and ice. The DPW Crew starts plowing and salting the streets during the early hours of the morning. The priority order for clearing snow are the major streets, local streets, downtown and city buildings, alleys and clearing snow piles out of intersections.

By city ordinance, it is the property owner’s responsibility to clear the snow and ice from the sidewalk that is front of their property.  We (and the postal carriers) appreciate residents who clear their walkways and keep fire hydrants clear of snow in case of emergencies.  When clearing your driveway, please do not push snow out into the street. 

City ordinance states that no vehicle can be parked on the streets during the hours of 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM.  We appreciate your cooperation.
